The Fallen Tree Incident ......

High winds overnight on Monday/Tuesday 23rd/24th June brought a tree down across the canal at the
picturesquely-named Thistle Bottom between Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd : the Waterways optimistically
sent two men armed with a small bush saw and a pair of waders to clear the obstruction ........

Whoever said this was just a sapling was, I fear, greatly mistaken!

I thought I heard them asking for three fellows?

Zak is NOT impressed! "Looks like a job for Dave.
Tell him to bring his dry suit and his chain saw!"

... Hooray! Here comes Dave, complete
with promised dry suit and chain saw!

...and two and a half hours later, a very wet
and cold Dave removes the last of the fallen tree.

Postscript : I wonder where they get their tee-shirts from? GGUK Surplus Stores??
